THE S.O.U.L. S.Y.S.T.E.M. Introducing Michelle Visage – It’s Gonna Be A Lovely Day (US CD Maxi Single)

The S.O.U.L. S.Y.S.T.E.M. was an American 1990′s RnB-dance music group assembled by Robert Clivillés and David Cole of C&C Music Factory. The group featured lead vocals by Michelle Visage, who was formerly a member of another Clivilles & Cole group, Seduction. The S.O.U.L. S.Y.S.T.E.M. produced one hit single, a rap version of a 1978 Bill Withers song “Lovely Day.”

Their song, titled “It’s Gonna Be A Lovely Day,” appeared on the 1992 film soundtrack, The Bodyguard. It reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and peaked at number 34 on the Billboard Hot 100, in 1993.

Band members included Gary Michael Wade, Jamal Alicea, Michelle Visage and Octavia Lambertis.

Octavia Lambertis went on to pursue a successful solo artist career as Octahvia. Though sometimes referred to as Octavia or Octah’via.

Visage went on to become a talk show host, along with RuPaul on the cable channel VH1.

I remember the video getting heavy rotation both on MTV and VH1 at the time. Those ultra long press-on nails Visage wore, man!

The C+C house mixes were fantastic but would sometimes get on my nerves, mainly because they usually past the ten minute mark, so in case anybody out there shares my feelings, I included an official edit of the house mix, whick clocks in at 4:16. I’m also throwing in the original album version which does not fade out Octavia Lambertis incredible final vocals, as all radio edits unfortunately did, to save no more than ten seconds, shame!
