Jamiroquai – Alright (US Promo CD Maxi-Single)

“Alright” is the fifth track and third single from Jamiroquai‘s 1996 album Travelling Without Moving. The song was written by Jay Kay and produced by Rick Pope. It is the group’s only single to chart on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, reaching number 78 in October 1997.
This promo CD was sent out to radios in the US September 23. Interestingly, the cover of this CD is of the same style as the “Virtual Insanity” single instead of “Alright”‘s.
- The first track is an edit of the 6:04 album version.
- The “Tee’s Radio Jay” mix is club oriented, and was created by famed DJ Todd Terry, who remixed artists like Annie Lennox, Björk, Garbage, among several others.
- The “D&C Electro Groove Mix” has a rock vibe to it with strong electric guitar presence, especially in the chorus sections. It was reworked by Dave Navarro and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Dave Schiffman, a remix/producer/studio engineer who worked with many different artists like System Of A Down, Alanis Morissette, and Janet Jackson.
